Celebrating the Creation of Ecuadorians in Ohio by COPLTI Alumni
We are proud to announce that COPLTI Parent Leader Alumni Miguel Perez and German Ordonez have successfully helped create the Ecuadorians in Ohio organization, a remarkable achievement stemming from their leadership training during the first Spanish COPLTI cohort. As a testament to their impactful work, the President of Ecuadorians in Ohio, Miguel Saldaña, and his board members have all joined the second Spanish COPLTI cohort to enhance their leadership skills and community engagement. Their first community project, “License for All,” is an initiative that helps all residents of Ohio obtain their driver’s license, highlighting the power of COPLTI training in fostering dynamic and influential community leaders.
Our Youth Leaders’ Community Cleanup Club Creation
We are excited to announce that COPLTI Parent Leader Chelsea Elliott’s daughter, Natalie Elliott, just 7 years old, has launched “Natalie’s Community Cleanup Club” to tackle littering and save the planet. Inspired after witnessing someone throw trash out of a car window, Natalie decided it was time to take action. With support from her mom, Chelsea Elliott, and community volunteers, Natalie’s initiative focuses on monthly cleanup events to keep our environment clean. “The Earth would be happier if all of us group up together and clean up,” Natalie says. Join us in supporting Natalie’s mission to create a cleaner, greener community. To volunteer and help with this inspiring project, please contact us!
Exciting Expansion of the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Led by Parent Leader Alumni and CDF-Ohio
We are excited to announce that COPLTI Parent Leader Alumni J’marshanae Rush, Ana Montes, Jireh De La Cruz, Jason Marshall, and Ugochi Akoi will lead the expansion of the Parent Advisory Board (PAB) in partnership with Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio (CDF-Ohio). This initiative aims to strengthen parent advocacy in education, health, gun violence, and immigrant families across Ohio.
We seek 2-3 new parents to join and engage in impactful community projects!
